After about 10 years of cleanup activities, EPA will evaluate the effectiveness of the cleanup and determine what additional work, if any, is necessary to achieve cleanup goals.

The results of a review commissioned in 2020 confirm that the 2013 selected cleanup plan remains the best option, but costs have increased.

The expected completion date for this project is May 2026.

PEER's petition targeted the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s failure to ensure adequate testing and monitoring of flares. 

In addition to PFOA and PFOS, Purefast Home filters have been tested for non-detect removal of PFHpA, PFHxS, PFNA, PFBS, GenX, and PFDA.

Since PFAS are not regulated as a hazardous waste under the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), these data were submitted voluntarily and likely represents only a small fraction of total PFAS waste.
