Timothy Strathmann is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the Colorado School of Mines. Recently, his research program has focused on developing innovative technologies for treatment of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), including being the inventor of hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HALT-PFAS). He is the 2024 recipient of the Mines Senior Faculty Excellence in Research Award, as well as past recipient of a NSF CAREER, and his research has been sponsored by DoD-SERDP/ESTCP, NSF, AFCEC, USEPA, USDA, DOE, and the Semiconductor Research Corporation.
