Dr Prashant Srivastava is a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO, Australia, specialising in the environmental fate, risk assessment and remediation of emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, microplastics and tyre-derived chemicals. His research integrates environmental chemistry, soil science and advanced analytical approaches to understand contaminant behaviour in soil, water and waste systems and to develop practical remediation and management solutions. In addition to his work on emerging contaminants, he leads research on waste valorisation, resource recovery and coal seam gas brine management, advancing circular economy approaches that transform waste streams into valuable resources. Through close collaboration with industry, government and academic partners, Dr Srivastava delivers science-based solutions that support environmental sustainability, risk management and evidence-based policy development.
