Dr. Lokesh Padhye is an Associate Professor at Stony Brook University and Associate Director of Emerging Contaminants Research at the New York State Center for Clean Water Technology. His research addresses critical water-quality challenges involving PFAS, microplastics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and tire-derived chemicals. His research interests also include advanced photochemical and electrochemical treatment technologies, as well as novel adsorbents to improve contaminant removal and protect public health. Dr. Padhye has held academic, research, and industry positions globally, including appointments at the University of Auckland, MIT, IIT Bombay, and Geosyntec Consultants. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from Georgia Tech.
