A graduate of the University of Calgary, Emily is currently President and co-founder of FREDsense Technologies where she leads operations and product development. FREDsense creates portable devices that enable operators to measure trace contaminants in water directly in the field. In her role in the company, Emily has brought previous sensors from initial development, through to commercialization, primarily in the utility and environmental sectors. Emily has led collaborations on field sensor technology with USGS, resulting in a recent publication. Emily been an invited speaker for Singularity University, The Atlantic and Oxford University. Emily has been a top 30 under 30 in Canada for Sustainability, was the 2018 global winner of the She Loves Tech competition in Beijing, China and was awarded an Arch award from the University of Calgary for Early Career Achievement.
