David W. Moore, Ph.D.

Dr. Moore is the US Army Senior Scientist (ST) (Environmental Sciences) stationed at the USACE – Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg MS. Dr. Moore’s current responsibilities include directing a number of large multi-disciplinary research programs focused on the assessment of persistent and emerging environmental contaminants. Dr. Moore has extensive experience in aquatic toxicology, sediment assessment and management, ecological risk assessment, marine ecology and in situ field assessments, aquatic toxicology, and technology assessment. He specializes in the assessment and management of contaminants in the environment. Dr. Moore is currently the director of the ERDC Program for Advanced Materials and Substances of Emerging Environmental Concern (AMSEEC), he serves as the USACE PFAS subject matter expert and advises the US Army and the USACE on PFAS related environmental issues. Dr. Moore also leads the risk management focus area for the Dredging Operations Environmental Research (DOER) Program and serves as the USACE representative to the London Convention for the Disposal of Waste at Sea. Dr. Moore helped develop both the ocean and inland testing manuals for the assessment of dredged materials, co-developed the Environmental Residue Effects Database for the assessment of bio-accumulated tissue residues and has authored over 60 peer reviewed publications.
