Ph.D. Candidate
University of Waterloo

Bill McLaren is a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He completed his MASc at Waterloo, where he developed numerical models of bioaugmentation and powdered activated carbon barriers for petroleum hydrocarbon remediation. His doctoral research focuses on PFAS, combining high-resolution field monitoring with mechanistic modeling to evaluate colloidal activated carbon as a sequestration technology for PFAS-contaminated groundwater.
