Banani H. Bonny, is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Ohio University. Throughout her childhood, she witnessed the struggles people in her country faced due to arsenic-contaminated water. This experience motivated Banani to seek higher education in order to address this pressing issue. Her advisor at OU has previously worked on acid mine drainage, focusing on removing pollution and converting it into a commercial product (pigment). His work has inspired her to explore similar methods for eliminating arsenic contamination from drinking water.
