Senior Staff Risk Assessor & Toxicologist
Geosyntec Consultants
Ankita Bhattacharya, Ph.D., is an environmental risk assessor and toxicologist focused on dietary exposures to PFAS. At Geosyntec Consultants, she supports risk assessments that inform decision-making at PFAS-impacted sites. Ankita earned her Ph.D. in Food Science and Environmental Toxicology from Michigan State University, where she led an EPA-funded study quantifying contributions of drinking water, local foods, and indoor environments to PFAS exposure in a community. At USDA-ARS, Ankita conducted uptake and elimination studies in livestock and developed physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models to estimate PFAS transfer into edible tissues. Her work integrates toxicokinetics, exposure modeling, and risk assessment to address PFAS contamination in agricultural and environmental systems.
