Infrastructure bill commits $10 million to hazard identification, cleanup projects
A total of 17 project sites around the country, and a new tool to identify hazards, are receiving funding. Here's a state-by-state list.
On Tuesday, the Department of the Interior announced nearly $10 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for 17 project sites. These new awards address legacy and are part of a $68 million investment made earlier this year.
“President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is the largest investment in cleaning up legacy pollution in American history,” says Secretary Deb Haaland. “At the Department of the Interior, we are using every tool at our disposal to support multiple programs to clean up these legacy environmental hazards, advance environmental justice, support good paying jobs, and safeguard our lands for future generations.”
